SAUERBURGER is founding a subsidiary

Sauerburger founds e-Grip GmbH to develop electrically powered slope carriers

Sauerburger is focusing on electric mobility: the agricultural machinery manufacturer is setting up a subsidiary to develop an electrically powered slope carrier. With the new e-grip model, the Sauerburger Group is expanding its existing portfolio, which so far includes the models Grip4-110, Grip4-75, Grip4-70, Grip4-70 Premium, and Grip4-140, with a forward-looking innovation in the field of electric mobility. Sauerburger’s e-grip combines the proven quality of the Grip4 slope carriers with eco-friendly drive technology. Off-road capability is also ensured in this model thanks to the overhead swing axle behind the cabin.

Since the development capacities and know-how at F.X.S. Sauerburger GmbH were not sufficient for developing an electrically powered equipment carrier, Franz Sauerburger, as the majority shareholder, decided to invest in e-Grip GmbH together with four other partners.

Since 2023, the company has been working on a vehicle designed for year-round use by municipalities, for waterway maintenance, road maintenance, and in alpine terrain. The carrier can be equipped with various attachments, such as double-knife mowers, mulchers, belt rakes, as well as other municipal attachments like a watering arm with a water tank or a snowplow with a spreader. The vehicle also allows you to swap attachments using a quick-change system without having to leave the vehicle.

e-Grip GmbH relies on a lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 52 kWh, which should provide a working time of 6-8 hours. The hillside carrier is powered by four wheel motors and features a rear axle with wheel steering as well as an electrically driven front PTO. e-Grip GmbH paid special attention to making the vehicle completely hydraulic- and oil-free, which is especially beneficial for work around water. With this model, the company is making a clear statement for sustainability and electric mobility.

According to e-Grip GmbH, pre-series models are currently being produced, and the first mass production is planned for spring 2026.

e-Grip GmbH presented the vehicle at Agritechnica 2025 at the Sauerburger Group booth. Visitors had the chance to get an exciting glimpse into the future of sustainable drive technologies.
