The SAUERBURGER DMS can be operated with vehicles from an engine output of 50 hp thanks to its low power-to-weight ratio. Its robust design also allows the mower to be mounted on more powerful tractors. The mechanical side shift allows the mower to be conveniently adjusted either to the tractor’s overall width or to the overlap with the front mower. The smooth operation of the mower, low power requirement and resulting fuel savings enable highly economical and environmentally friendly operation.
Standard equipment
- BIDUX cutter bar with unequal blade spacing
- CARBODUX knife blades
- Reinforcement profile from a working width of 3.10 m
- Hardox skid shoes
- Two-cylinder lifting system
- Mechanically adjustable collision protection
- BIDUX cutter bar
- Smooth upper blade, serrated lower blade
- Drive via tractor hydraulics
- Hydraulic quick coupling BG3
- Three-point linkage cat. I + II
- Mechanical lateral displacement
- Selectable skid shoe height (30–150 mm)
- 100 mm wide skid shoe
Options
Compared to the proven classic BIDUX cutter bar, the BIDUXX cutter bar features an optimized crop flow design, but requires up to 20% more power.
Smooth upper and lower blades are ideal for fine, short crop material. The blades feature low power requirements and both blades can be resharpened.
The drive system operates via a PTO-driven unit designed for a drive speed of either 540 or 1000 rpm, depending on the version.
The DMF is hydraulically driven by a special hydraulic unit mounted on the rear mower. This enables a front mower and a rear-mounted DMS to be operated together using a single hydraulic unit. This solution is intended for tractors that have neither a front PTO nor sufficient hydraulic oil supply.
The flat-face hydraulic quick coupling size BG2 enables clean and drip-free connection of the hydraulic lines. This prevents oil loss and protects the environment while ensuring a reliable and secure connection, even under frequent use.
Clockwise PTO rotation, viewed facing the tractor PTO stub, corresponds to the standard rear PTO configuration on many tractors.
Counterclockwise PTO rotation, viewed facing the tractor PTO stub, corresponds to the standard front PTO configuration on many tractors.

The speed monitoring system for single mower operation is designed to monitor the blade drive speed of one mower. It allows the operator to keep the blade drive speed in view at all times. This enables the drive speed to be optimally matched to the travel speed, ensuring consistent work quality.
The speed monitoring system for the DMF and DMS mower combination is designed to monitor the blade drive speed of two mowers via a central display. It ensures continuous monitoring of the blade drive speed, allowing the drive speed to be optimally matched to the travel speed and ensuring consistently high working quality. In addition, only one power supply and one display are required inside the vehicle.
The mower speed monitoring is carried out directly via the Grip4 vehicle display. This ensures that the blade drive speed is always clearly visible and no additional components for speed indication are required. The drive speed can be optimally matched to the travel speed, ensuring consistently high working quality.
The hydraulic side-shift allows continuous lateral adjustment of the cutter bar during operation. This enables flexible adaptation to different operating conditions (e.g. obstacles). The option increases the mower’s versatility and significantly improves operating comfort.
The 260 mm wide skid shoe is designed for mowing on soft and yielding ground. Its extra-wide contact surface ensures optimum ground adaptation and even weight distribution. Ground pressure per skid shoe is significantly reduced, ensuring smooth and stable operation. Compared to the standard 100 mm wide skid shoe, the 260 mm version also has significantly higher friction resistance.
The cast sliding disc is a tray-shaped skid shoe with fully rounded edges designed for maximum protection of the grass sward. The sliding disc is available for cutting heights of 40 mm and 60 mm.
One set of spare blades enables quick and uncomplicated replacement in the event of blade wear or damage. This ensures operational readiness and consistently high cutting quality while minimizing downtime.
An additional set of skid shoes provides greater operational flexibility and allows quick adaptation to varying ground conditions or required cutting heights.
The swath plate ensures targeted placement of the crop material into a clean swath, facilitating subsequent passes. It is especially suitable for low, sparse or dry crop conditions and provides a clearing width of 150 mm to 250 mm.
The swath drums ensure clean swath placement in all crop conditions thanks to their active ground drive. The rotating movement ensures an even crop flow without risk of clogging. They achieve a clearing width of 300 mm to 400 mm per side and are ideal for clearing space for subsequent cutter bars.
During hemp harvesting, the support wheel ensures that the drive of the rear side mower can be guided smoothly over the long cut hemp stalks.
The set of replacement knife blades and countersunk rivets includes a selection of different knife blades together with matching countersunk rivets. It is intended for quick and professional repair of the blades in the event of damage or loss of individual blade sections.
The additional hydraulic oil cooler ensures a constant oil temperature under the toughest operating conditions and prevents overheating of the hydraulic system. This guarantees reliable performance even at high ambient temperatures.
